Simon is an ornithologist and conservationist with over 30 years of experience in identifying, acquiring and managing land for conservation.
In the UK he has created and led teams to develop and manage habitat restoration projects and developed partnerships and funding to deliver these.
His passion for fieldwork has led him to work with a range of academic, governmental and non-governmental organisations in Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Ethiopia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and the Caribbean.
He spends as much time in the field as possible and there are few species in the UK that he has not surveyed or monitored.
The holder of a BSc (Economics) from London School of Economics his most recent projects have included nature reserve identification and acquisition as Reserves Manager for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), UK Organisational support and capacity building, Turks and Caicos National Trust (TCINT), Turks and Caicos Islands.
Simon has undertaken ornithological survey, monitoring and data collection in the UK, Middle East, Central Asia, and the Caribbean, wetland creation and restoration in the UK and led the conservation project management and review for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in UK, and Armenia.
He has also been involved with the development and writing of management plans in Afghanistan, Lebanon, UK, and the Turks and Caicos Islands, the training and development of conservation managers in the UK, and the Caribbean and in business process design and improvement for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in the UK.
