Mark Lazarowicz has wide experience in public policy and government affairs.
He was MP for Edinburgh North & Leith from 2001 – 2015 and served for many years on the House of Commons Environmental Audit Select Committee. He also successfully took the ground-breaking Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Act 2006 through Parliament as a Private Member’s Bill.
His local government experience is also extensive, having served as Leader of Edinburgh Council from 1986 to 1993, and also as Executive Member for Transport on Edinburgh City Council from 1999 to 2001.
He is an Honorary Fellow of Scottish Environment LINK.
Mark is also a practising advocate at the Scottish bar with Terra Firma Chambers
His areas of expertise include environmental law and regulation, land reform and community land ownership, and European policy.
